Product Spotlight - KwickSwitch
Our mission at KwickScreen has always been to replace hospital curtains by providing a more sustainable and hygienic alternative. Our newest product follows in the same vein.
Introducing KwickSwitch
How does it work, you ask? It is all in the name.
The future of privacy
KwickSwitch is a switchable film that allows you to choose between opaque or transparent windows at the push of a button. This product contributes towards our aim of helping hospitals create flexible, hygienic treatment spaces quickly. Curtains and blinds are a hassle that accumulate dirt quickly. WindowSwitch’s wipe-clean surface makes it an excellent option for infection control and provides a clean, uncluttered, timeless look for your healthcare space.
There are plenty of other advantages that make KwickSwitch the clear winner:
The product can be retrofitted to existing glass anywhere in a hospital;
It reduces costs by removing the need for constant procurement, installation; removal, cleaning and re-installation of curtains/blinds;
It has a long service life of over 80 million switches;
Fast response time, capable of switching in less than 200ms;
Low power consumption with less than 50V - below the threshold of the low voltage directive;
Fire rated to EN13501-1 Euroclass A;
The only UL-certified product for electrified glazing
Available in 110 / 240 V variants.
Unlike other switchable film on the market today, here at KwickScreen we have designed a bespoke power supply that uses an entirely pluggable system that does not require specialist electricians. It is also medical grade to IEC 60601 making it suitable for use in patient areas.
The measurements we need before we can get your KwickSwitch to you are pretty straightforward. Firstly you need to measure each of your pieces of glass (no frame, gasket or extra bits). Secondly, we need to know the frame dimensions and the distance from the frame to the nearest power supply. And then we are good to go!
In the office
Its wide-ranging applicability gives KwickSwitch an edge. It can be used outside of healthcare settings such as in offices and meeting rooms. Many offices globally use glass windows to allow natural light to filter in and give a modern feel. There is a compromise between privacy and aesthetics and many companies tend to use blinds for important meetings away from prying eyes. This rapid privacy solution would help avoid that compromise.
