Charing Cross Cancer Day Project
Every hospital department has different requirements and priorities.
At KwickScreen, we take pride in offering a range of solutions to best fulfil our customer's needs. We recently worked with Charing Cross Hospital to install printed screens in their Cancer Day Treatment Centre. Read on to find out more about the project.
A Quick Look into the Centre
The cancer day treatment centre at Charing Cross Hospital in Fulham chose to attack their capacity issue head-on. They addressed infection control and privacy and dignity concerns using a combination of KwickScreen solutions.
The Cancer Day Treatment Centre centre moved into their new unit to increase patient capacity and provide a more pleasant, colourful and calming environment for patients going through chemotherapy.
Increasing Capacity and Improving Patient Spirit
The main room offers a light and airy space. However, the staff wanted to provide patients with privacy and dignity, which is difficult for many while retaining the open feel to the environment. Following our consultation, the Cancer Day Treatment Centre chose our portable KwickScreen Pros between treatment chairs, enabling them to rearrange and be flexible with their space depending on the requirements at a given time.
Our dual-screen Duos wrap around the beds to provide dignity. The Duos are also used as doors to offer complete privacy for patients in treatment chairs. The fully-portable Duo is repurposed between these two uses depending on the quantity, nature and needs of the patients receiving treatment.
Elsewhere the Cancer Day Treatment Centre utilises wall-mounted Kin and Air units where space is at the most significant premium. Where portability is not a priority, the Kin and Air occupy the smallest possible footprint to maximise space in the room. The pastel colours used on these screens also provide a calming influence.
